Skandal in Northeim: Betrügerische Handwerker verlangen 2.000 Euro statt 150 Euro

**Fraudsters flee after call to the police – Bühle resident falls for roofing scam**

Northeim, 12.07.2023 (ots) – BÜHLE (Wol) – Perpetrators left the scene after a call to the police.

On Tuesday, a 71-year-old man from Bühle had roof repairs carried out by two men. The men offered the work at the front door for 150 euros. However, after completing the work, they demanded 2,000 euros.

The 48-year-old daughter, who was present, then requested to see a bill, which was denied. The daughter subsequently informed the police, upon which the two perpetrators fled the scene in a white Fiat car (Hamburg license plate).

The 71-year-old did not suffer any financial loss.

The Northeim police would like to once again emphasize that door-to-door transactions should be avoided.
